Weekly payroll Company-provided safety eyewear & boot program This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and tending to machines to mix and blend chemical raw materials into finished goods. Main Responsibilities: Operate machinery used in the production process, such as mixers, forklift trucks, and pallet jacks, and may operate and set up filling equipment and packaging equipment, such as a case sealer or shrink wrapper, case erector, etc. Compound and process raw materials, scents, and dyes according to the batch ticket Weigh or measure raw materials before putting them into mixing tanks Dump or pour specified amounts of raw materials into mixing tanks via pumps or manual means Start the machines to mix or blend ingredients and allow them to mix for the specified times as per instructions Observe production and monitor equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation Stop mixing or blending equipment per instructions on the batch ticket once the specified product quantity is obtained Collect samples of materials or products for laboratory testing Record production data on specified forms Clean and maintain mixing tanks, equipment, and the work area Move finished products to pallets manually or with a forklift or other equipment Empty tanks of finished goods are blended by Batchmakers into designated packaging. Adhere to the work schedule and be able to report to work on time, and work throughout the assigned schedule and shift Accept direction from the shift supervisor Examine products with equipment or by sight to conform to quality standards such as color, viscosity, labeling, fill level, etc. Observe equipment operations and notify the supervisor of any malfunctions Regulate the flow of liquids into containers via valves, ribbon blenders, and filling equipment Signal co-workers to direct them to move products during the packaging process Housekeeping duties include cleaning the work area and blending equipment Apply labels to products and/or cases Help load trucks Build out pallets Requirements High School Diploma or Equivalent Complete required safety training, safely perform tasks, and follow safety policies Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with a diverse team effectively. Must be able to read, write, and speak English to follow written and verbal instructions/directions Must be detail-oriented to follow specific packaging and work instructions Possess basic math skills - adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing Must be able to work at a sustained pace, follow packaging instructions to produce quality work, and produce sufficient quantity or work as determined by the production schedule and the Production Planner Wear specified personal protective equipment as needed throughout the shift, which may include steel/composite toe work boots, safety glasses, aprons, protective gloves or respirators, hoods, masks, face shields, etc., as required Exposure to fumes or airborne particles May handle caustic or acidic chemicals after appropriate training and with appropriate PPE Moderate noise level from forklifts and other equipment Physical Demands Stand, walk, handle, reach outward and above the shoulder, climb, and bend frequently, and squat occasionally. The ability to push and pull up to 100 lbs. frequently; The ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. frequently Be able to judge distance, color, periphery, and depth Work in a humid environment Work near moving mechanical parts
