Description

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Plant Care Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the health and appearance of our plant inventory, assisting customers with plant-related questions and purchases, and ensuring the store remains clean, organized, and welcoming. Also staff our events for customers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong knowledge of indoor and outdoor plant care, horticulture & botany experience preferred.
  • Friendly, customer-focused attitude with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and follow a schedule with attention to detail.
  • Previous experience in plant care, horticulture, or retail is a plus.
  • Physical ability to lift pots, soil, and perform cleaning tasks.
    Work Environment:This role involves standing for extended periods, lifting plant materials, and working in both indoor and occasionally outdoor conditions. Extended hours for events (personal and private).

    Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Provide daily care for all plants in the shop, including watering, pruning, fertilizing, and repotting as needed.
  • Follow the plant care schedule to ensure proper maintenance of a variety of plant species.
  • Assist customers with plant selection, care advice, and recommendations tailored to their environment and lifestyle.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop, including sweeping, cleaning surfaces, and ensuring a tidy display of plants and products.
  • Repot and provide plant care services for customer-owned plants, as requested.
  • Monitor plant health, identify signs of pests or disease, and take appropriate action.
  • Stay up to date with plant trends and care techniques to better assist customers.
  • Support general shop operations, including restocking and merchandising.
  • Follow the handbook for specific situations.
