NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA. We are seeking a Plant Carpenter to construct, repair, and install building frameworks, and structures while following established safety rules and regulations and maintaining a safe and clean work environment. This role will be responsible for light mechanical construction to include basic plumbing and be able to complete a variety of other basic handyman tasks at our Northwest Packing plant in Vancouver, WA. For additional information, please see our “About Us” video, Our Story - Neil Jones Food Company [https://neiljonesfoodcompany.com/about-us/] Key Responsibilities: * Install foundations, walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs using materials such as: wood, steel, metal, concrete, plastics, and composites of multiple materials. * Erects scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground levels. * Studies specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required. * Shapes or cuts materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws. * Builds or repairs cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, or other wooden fixtures used in buildings, using woodworking machines, hand tools, or power tools. Requirements: * High school diploma or GED preferred. * 4 years of experience in commercial or residential carpentry and ability to comprehend schematic diagrams, blueprints, sketches, building plans and other specifications. * A valid driver’s license with a good driving record. * Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. * Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, and to work extended schedule and weekends during the fresh pack season, typically July to early November.
