Job Description Summary
Directs and has immediate responsibility for Plant accounting practices, maintenance of its fiscal records, and preparation of its financial reports. Directs and has accountability for general accounting, internal auditing, cost accounting, and budget controls for our Livingston manufacturing operations and supporting warehouses. Responsible for appraising operating results in terms of costs, budgets and trends

Key Responsibilities

• Monthly closing including work order close, manufacturing variance review, and fixed/variable cost analysis
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Help prepare annual operating plan and re-forecasts
• Prepare and manage plant product costing, ensuring standard costs properly reflect operations
• Inventory management including reconciliation, control, analysis and oversee cycle counts and physical inventories
• Plant Financial report development for plant management
• Systems (JDE) support / plant development / implementation
• Business partner with Plant Manager and site team.
• Provide government statistics as required
• Complete month end financial submission (FCCS) for the UK entity
• Assist with special projects

Qualifications

• At least 5years of experience – prior manufacturing plant accounting experience desired – ideally as lead accountant at a plant
• Degree in Finance or Accounting – CIMA or equivalent an advantage
• Specific knowledge of plant accounting, forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, inventory control, business case, cost benefit analysis and capital planning analysis
• Strong analytical skills for problem solving. A change agent able to improve upon existing processes.
• Experience with ERP Systems a must (specific technical knowledge of JD Edwards an advantage), MS Excel, Powerpoint, and Word essential
• Strong communication skills both written and verbally
• Able to work independently
• Use of common sense, pragmatic thinking and possession of necessary analytical skills for problem solving and data interpretation purposes
