Description Plant Controller / Plant Accountant Reports To: Corporate Controller Location: North Charleston, SC Position Summary The Plant Controller / Plant Accountant is responsible for both the oversight and execution of accounting and financial activities at the manufacturing facility. This role manages plant financial reporting, cost and inventory accounting, and partners with operations to analyze production performance and support operational decision-making. Key Responsibilities Prepare and analyze monthly plant financial results and support the close process Maintain product costing and perform manufacturing cost and variance analysis Manage inventory accounting including raw materials, WIP, and finished goods Reconcile inventory and production activity and support physical inventory counts Partner with plant operations to analyze production costs, yields, and efficiencies Assist with plant budgeting, forecasting, and capital project analysis Maintain internal controls over plant financial processes and inventory Support ERP reporting and continuous improvement of financial processes Employment Type & Schedule Full-time, Regular. Primarily day shift, with flexibility for extended hours during reporting cycles, audits, or special projects. Requirements Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance 5–10 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing Experience with inventory and cost accounting ERP experience (SAP, Dynamics, Oracle, etc.) and strong Excel skills Physical Requirements & Work Environment Work performed primarily in an office environment with regular interaction across plant operations. Ability to sit, type, and use a computer for extended periods. Occasional visits to production areas requiring PPE and exposure to industrial conditions including noise, heat, and chemical odors.
