POSITION SUMMARY:

The Plant Controller works closely with the local Plant Operations Team and Operations Controller to provide accounting, monitoring, and analytical support to achieve plant financial objectives. Key responsibilities include the development and maintenance of planning and budgeting systems, analysis and interpretation of trends, and preparation of findings and specific recommendations to senior management.
This role requires strong analytical skills and a continuous improvement mindset as they will work collaboratively across various departments to build relationships and assist in forward thinking.
This is an onsite role supporting our Thomasville, NC Plant.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • 3+ years of costing and manufacturing experience in a plant environment
  • Advanced Excel Skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CMA, CPA or MBA

Responsibilities
  • Implementation of initiatives that drive transparency and growth opportunities at the plant.
  • Embrace continuous improvement mentality through partnership with plant operations.
  • Manages and supports the monthly forecast, annual operating planning, and plant performance to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Assists in month end close activities and partners with plant management to explain results, trends, and identify actions.
  • Leads monthly analysis and review of plant site operations - production output, productivity, yields, headcount, overtime, etc.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally and assists with the build of yearly standard cost calculations and files.
  • Analyzes core accounts and key performance indicators. Be a thought leader and provide insights for improved cost and operational efficiencies.
  • Evaluate and recommend changes in the company’s cost structure, as appropriate.
  • Performs deep dives and analyses on manufacturing variances and PPV.
  • Drives make vs buy financial analysis.
  • Develops financial reporting and analytical tools to assist in daily operations.
  • Leads monthly tracking and monitoring of capital spending against budget.
  • Compiles and analyzes financial reports that indicate trends, variances inventories.
  • Assists in monitoring, performing, and testing of Internal Controls.
