Premier is looking for an experienced Plant Engineer to manage the Premier facilities. This position will be based out of the main manufacturing plant in Orangeburg, NY, and include two other warehouse/light manufacturing facilities.
This is an outstanding opportunity for someone who understands plant and maintenance operations and desires to take on responsibility that will make an impact on our operations.
We are looking for a self-starter who can provide leadership in their own areas as well as support and ideas on adjacent areas of responsibility - strong follow up without prompting, always looking for and pursuing better ways and making suggestions.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required
· Minimum five years in facilities management
· Maintenance background with strong equipment troubleshooting skills
· Experience working with architects and engineering firms on Design/Build projects
· Effective communicator with floor personnel and management
· Experience in a Consumer-Packaged Goods in a cGMP environment preferred.
· Positive pro-active attitude that is both collaborative and team-oriented with a strong work ethic.
· Good time management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a lean/agile work environment.

The position has high visibility and performance expectations. Communication skills as well as engineering talent are required. Will need to work effectively with all facets of the organization, as well as being comfortable presenting to corporate leadership.
The main areas of responsibility are:
Facilities - Manage existing plant and infrastructure. Work with internal and external resources to maintain the plant facilities. Typical areas of management: Fire protection, security systems, rubbish collection, HVAC systems, material handling equipment, grounds keeping, office modifications, etc. Responsible for maintaining relationships with vendors and understanding their capabilities. Fully manage all project phases - scope with stakeholder buy-in, quotation, management presentations, installation, and start-up.
Responsible for educating and checking with on-site outside contractors on safety protocols.
Maintenance – Manage production equipment: The Maintenance supervisor reports into this position. Maintenance is responsible for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades on production equipment. Effective communication on priorities and priority changes is essential. Housekeeping is also managed by the maintenance department supervisor. There are seven Maintenance and housekeeping personnel total in the department.
Plant Safety: The plant safety trainer and coordinator reports into this position. All training and safety protocols need to be current and reinforced.
Plant Engineering: Work with operations and manufacturing engineering on production system improvements such as new equipment installation and upgrades. Suggest ways to improve operations either from a lean perspective or for improved safety/quality.
Capital Project Management: Premier is a growing company. We are expanding our production footprint and installing new processes and production equipment. The Plant Engineer will lead these projects and fully manage all project phases from scope definition to start-up. This will require understanding production processes and working with internal and external engineering to specify equipment. Larger projects will involve working with architects and design/build firms. Project management skills and an eye for detail are essential for success.
