Position: Plant Engineer Location: Maryville, MO Type: Full-Time The Plant Engineer is responsible for ensuring continuous, reliable plant operations by analyzing process data, identifying issues and trends, and implementing effective technical solutions. This role also leads the development of standardized operating procedures and control strategies to support safe, efficient, and optimized production What You’ll Do Process & Operational Excellence Evaluate, optimize, and improve existing plant processes and workflows. Lead continuous improvement initiatives using plant data, KPIs, and best engineering practices. Design, test, and implement new procedures to improve productivity, efficiency, and safety. Process Safety & Compliance Serve as the responsible person for critical process safety management functions including: Management of Change (MoC) Root Cause Analysis P&ID redlines and as-built updates Job Safety Analysis (JSA) Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with relevant safety, environmental, and quality standards. Apply appropriate OEM guidelines to ensure proper operability and maintenance of plant equipment. Technical Analysis & Reporting Utilize process simulation software to evaluate and determine optimal production strategies. Track and analyze key performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities and monitor upgrades. Develop detailed reports documenting process conditions, changes, and recommendations for improvement. Clearly communicate technical findings and proposals to management. Implementation & Support Provide clear, detailed instructions to ensure successful implementation of process changes. Support cross-functional teams and contribute to departmental goals by completing tasks as needed. Coordinate and oversee third-party contractors to ensure high-quality work. What You’ll Bring Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Minimum of 7 years of experience in manufacturing (chemical or industrial plant experience strongly preferred). Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience working with process equipment. Proficiency in heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics. Experience with heat exchangers, pumps, control valves, and related equipment. Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, equipment drawings, and technical documentation. Experience with electrical systems and instrumentation. Demonstrated ability to provide technical support in complex manufacturing environments. Basic AutoCAD skills for updating drawings. Strong communication skills suited for an industrial environment. Detail-oriented, organized, and quality-focused. Positive, team-oriented attitude.
