WHAT WILL YOU DO?

In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:

  • Represent the department as both an ambassador and active partner when interacting with other departments to help create a team atmosphere and common goals that serve the best interests and corporate objectives of Ditch Witch and the company’s dedication to continuous improvement.
  • Actively encourage a culture of safety by assisting with training and promoting the importance of maintaining a safe work environment not only for the department but for all of Ditch Witch.
  • The Plant Engineer help will direct and/or participate in planning, designing, or reviewing plans for campus structures including internal and external infrastructure and systems, both existing and proposed.
  • Coordination of contract award selection and contractor bid letting.
  • Analyze and design hoists and other lifting devices for the facilities. Supervise their installation.
  • Participate in the creation and maintenance of drawings for all Perry campus facilities, utilities, and grounds.
  • Examine plans and specifications for new machinery and equipment. Confirm they include all safety precautions and maintenance information. Determine foundation and utility requirements for new equipment.
  • Establish inspection and maintenance schedules to meet OSHA guidelines and requirements.
  • Evaluate plant roofing requirements, specify repair, recommend replacement materials, and oversee installation.
  • Specify and supervise construction of concrete surfaces including site evaluation and planning. This may include the preparation of elevation and/or topographical drawings.
  • Meet or exceed typical expectations for engineering competence, productivity, creativity and safety.

To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial, mechanical, construction or civil engineering.
  • Engineer I: 0-2 years experience
  • Engineer II: 3-5 years experience
  • Have an excellent work record of self-motivation, judgment, creativity, and productivity.
  • Have sound computer skills with common office computer programs.
  • Proficiency with CAD programs.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a high level of organization
