Job Details Job Location: Montgomery, AL Salary Range: Undisclosed Description Plant Maintenance Assistant Job Overview The Plant Maintenance Assistant is responsible for assisting maintenance personnel in repairing and maintaining plant equipment. Responsibilities Follow company Safety Policies Assist with maintenance of the Rock Screening Plant and Heavy Equipment Assist with monitoring operating temperatures of drive mechanisms and components such as bearings, motors, gear boxes, pumps, etc. Assist with performing oil changes on plant and pump components at regular service intervals Assist with checking/adjusting belt tension on both V-belts and conveyor belts Assist with checking/adjusting screen tension and replacing screens as needed Assist with repairing/replacing rubber skirting Assist with checking/adjustment of pulleys, rollers, idlers, bearings, and shafts Produce daily equipment inspections and document findings Ensure greasing is performed properly on all equipment and screens Remove contamination from inventory Any other miscellaneous duties as assigned Qualifications Qualifications 18 years old or older Reliable Transportation Ability to use small hand tools Ability to work well with others Willing to work flexible hours and conditions Physical Qualifications Strength and Endurance: Ability to exert force when pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying objects, often weighing 50 pounds. Ability to lift 100 pounds occasionally. Mobility: Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and climbing. Hand-Eye Coordination: Precise control of levers, pedals, and other controls on the machinery. Vision: Good depth perception and clear vision to accurately gauge distances and identify potential hazards. Hearing: Ability to hear instructions and machine sounds.
