Description The Plant Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading the maintenance team to ensure all facility systems and production equipment operate safely, efficiently, and reliably across all three shifts. This role plays a key part in maintaining operational excellence, minimizing downtime, and driving continuous improvement across the plant. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced production environment, is passionate about equipment reliability, and takes pride in building a strong maintenance culture focused on safety, efficiency, and quality. Key Responsibilities Lead, train, and develop a team of maintenance professionals across all shifts to ensure high performance, safety, and accountability. Promote a strong safety culture by enforcing safety policies, conducting regular training, and modeling safe work practices. Plan and coordinate maintenance schedules to align with production demands and maximize equipment uptime. Partner with production management to address equipment downtime and coordinate timely, effective repairs. Strengthen and expand the Preventative Maintenance (PM) program to reduce unplanned downtime and extend equipment life. Oversee PM schedules and coordinate with internal teams and external vendors for planned maintenance and downtime projects. Maintain an adequate inventory of critical spare parts to prevent extended production interruptions. Manage facility infrastructure, including water, electricity, natural gas, and waste systems (including the DAF system). Serve as the primary liaison with the city regarding incoming water and effluent management. Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on increasing equipment uptime, reducing water usage, and optimizing waste and effluent processes. Collaborate with operations leadership on facility expansions, equipment installations, and process improvements. Partner with the Quality team to maintain a facility environment that meets food safety standards and regulatory requirements. Ensure maintenance staff understand and uphold food safety protocols during and after maintenance activities. Perform other duties and projects as assigned. Qualifications Proven experience managing maintenance operations in a food processing, manufacturing, or industrial facility. Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and mentor a technical team. Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems, as well as utility and waste systems management. Demonstrated success in implementing and improving preventative maintenance programs. Commitment to workplace safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
