Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently hiring two (2) Plant Maintenance Worker III – Electrician or Instrument Technician.
Employees with the necessary trade qualifications will perform and record predictive, preventative and corrective (repairs) maintenance and modifications/additions to all electrical, mechanical and electronic machinery, equipment, fixtures, instruments in the generating stations/plants (including the utility plant) to ensure the safe, reliable and cost-effective production of electrical power. The role may also include administrative duties related to the completion of work orders and recording/documenting work completed.
These are full-time, safety-sensitive positions based out of our Valleyview Generating Station in Valleyview, Alberta.

Under the general supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor or more senior maintenance staff, employees perform various predictive, preventative and corrective (repair) tasks. Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Executing approved modifications and additions, and support projects assigned.
  • Performing and documenting all predictive and preventative maintenance activities
  • Troubleshooting, repairing, and making modifications to plant equipment
  • Maintaining station documentation with regard to any work performed on station equipment
  • Assist in the mentoring of other trades in the station
  • Supporting health, safety, and environmental programs at the station
  • Providing job leadership for team members and contractors
  • Actively participating in Safe Work Processes such as permitting, field level hazard assessments, isolation review, JSA review and updating, and procedural review
  • Operating mobile equipment and supporting site service
