About the Role: We are currently searching for a Plant Manager to oversee the operations of our Barrie facility, as well as provide operational oversight and staffing management for our two smaller fabrication locations in Tiffin and Saunders (30-40 employees each). This role is crucial in ensuring efficiency, productivity, and compliance while fostering a culture of safety, teamwork, and operational excellence. The Plant Manager will be responsible for leading production teams, optimizing manufacturing processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

5+ years of leadership experience in a fabrication/manufacturing environment (transformer manufacturing preferred).
Strong understanding of welding fabrication and industrial production processes.
Strong knowledge of welding fabrication and industrial production processes in a high-volume manufacturing setting.
Lean Six Sigma Certification preferred (Green Belt or higher is a plus).
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Manufacturing Management, or a related field is an asset.
Demonstrated experience leading continuous improvement initiatives and value stream mapping.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

Oversee daily plant operations to ensure production targets, quality standards, and efficiency goals are met.
Oversee daily plant operations at the Barrie facility, along with staffing and oversight for the Tiffin and Saunders fabrication locations.
Provide strategic leadership and execute short- and long-term business strategies for operational growth.
Manage plant performance across key metrics including safety, quality, cost, delivery, and productivity.
Supervise and support Production, Material Planning, Engineering, and Maintenance teams.
Foster Lean Manufacturing principles such as 5S, waste elimination, pull production, and continuous improvement.
Lead workforce planning, including hiring, training, and mentoring employees to build a strong operational team.
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 procedures, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
Develop and manage the annual operating budget, including capital expenditure planning.
Partner with HR to develop succession planning and employee development initiatives.
