SUMMARY:

The Plant Manager provides leadership, direction, and oversight for all operations within the Leetsdale facility. This role is responsible for achieving production, quality, safety, cost, and delivery objectives while ensuring compliance with company policies, environmental standards, and labor agreements. The Plant Manager works closely with department heads and front-line supervisors to drive continuous improvement, operational excellence, and employee engagement in a unionized environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Engineering, Operations Management or related field of study.
  • 10+ years of manufacturing experience (within the metals Industry is strongly preferred), with at least 5 years in a plant or operations management role.
  • Excellent managerial and supervisory skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of operations and production management.
  • Ability to interpret financial data as needed to set production goals.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong Lean manufacturing background.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily plant operations across all copper manufacturing processes (casting, rolling, slitting, annealing).
  • Ensure production goals are met while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Monitor KPIs (throughput, scrap, downtime, productivity) and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead and develop managers, supervisors, and staff to build a high-performance culture.
  • Partner with HR to manage labor relations and ensure union compliance.
  • Develop and manage budgets, controlling costs and optimizing resources.
  • Drive continuous improvement through Lean, Six Sigma, and waste reduction initiatives.
  • Lead capital projects and support long-term strategic growth plans.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, finance, logistics, and environmental teams.
  • Support environmental compliance and Management of Change (MOC) processes.
  • Analyze performance and financial data to improve operations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
