As an Plant Manager, you will provide site-wide operational leadership for the production process and ensure organizational goals are achieved. You will lead transformative programs for continuous improvement and organizational integration.
You will be based onsite at Grand Haven and travel on a regular basis to a second plant in West Chicago (no more than a few days a month). You will report to the Director of IC Ops Industrial, PM, & Speciality.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Chemistry or related required or advanced degree
  • 15+ years Chemical Operations and Production & Manufacturing leadership
  • Previous PSM site experience
  • Develop productivity/capacity plans for materials, machines, and employees and develop plans for improvement where necessary.
  • Fluent in DMAIC/DFLSS and Kaizen project execution

Responsibilities
  • Engage leaders in the development of operational strategies focused on safety, quality and growth.
  • Coordinate each step of the production process, ensure quality standards are met, and lead continuous improvement using hands-on and strategic actions
  • Use quality methods, Lean Sig Sigma, others tools and set up team actions to improve production flow, quality and cost efficiency.
  • Meet the growing expectations of our customers through improvement of processes.
  • Manufacture and deliver quality coatings safely, on time, and within PPG guidelines, following the PPG Way to Lead.
  • Lead a clean, safe, cost-efficient production organization that is committed to a high level of first run capability.
  • Evaluate equipment, facility, warehousing/distribution, and process needs, and prepare capital authorizations to meet all needs.
  • Develop productivity/capacity plans for materials, machines, and employees and develop plans for improvement
  • Develop a work force that is experienced and committed to organizational goals.
  • Lead new product scale up and CapEx projects
  • Lead employee engagement and development to maximize safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Prepare, provide, and present financial data on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Travel approximately 20%
