Description
* Position Overview Direct and manage all plant operations with overall responsibilities for production, maintenance, quality and other production-related activities. Essential Job Functions * Direct and manage plant operations for production, quality, production shipments, safety & maintenance. * Coordinate plant activities through the planning with departmental managers to insure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner. * Strong knowledge and proficiency of standard lean tools and concepts (5S, value stream mapping, flow, standard work). * Develop and control profits, plans, and budget. * Implement cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages and salaries. * Manages capital asset maintenance. * Ability to build a production team and reduce/minimize turnover within the operation. * Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards. * Control and minimize labor overtime, premium freight and repair expenses. * Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment; replace, or make adjustments to plant facilities and equipment when necessary. * Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives. * Implements and maintains preventative maintenance programs. * Incorporates shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel. * Provides direction, development and leadership to production leadership. * Monitor and maintain company-wide manning list to understand areas of priority. * Assist in talent selection and succession planning for plant leadership development. * Frequent plant walk-throughs to assist employees with questions/needs and identify safety concerns. * Assist with plant onboarding reviews are completed in a timely manner. * Develop and mentor plant leadership. * Knowledge of manufacturing, quality, tooling, tool design, preventative maintenance and engineering processes/methods. * Support and reinforce Company guidelines and expectations. Non-Essential Job Functions * Must have excellent time management skills. * Maintain a highly organized production facility. * Strong skills in interpersonal communications, negotiation, and conflict resolution. * Relationship building skills and the ability to motivate and influence change.   Qualifications Requirements • Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. • Past experience in an assembly line production operation. • Ability to communicate (verbal/written) professionally with all levels of the organization. • Prior industry experience in automotive, aerospace or truck assembly. • Knowledge and use of ERP systems. • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow through on commitments. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel). Other Skills/Abilities • Bachelor's degree in related field or five years plant/general management experience in a manufacturing environment. • Six Sigma Green or Black belt certified • Bilingual (English/Spanish) definite plus.
