JOB OVERVIEW

Woodard Furniture located in Owosso, MI (owned by Litex Industries headquartered in Grand Prairie, Texas), is searching for a Plant Manager. This position will drive operational excellence, lead strategic initiatives, and ensure processes are in place to support the company’s growth and premium brand standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing operations, including 5+ years in management role.
  • Experience in hand-crafted furniture and luxury consumer goods preferred.
  • Proven expertise in lean manufacturing, operational strategy, and plant management.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets/P&L.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and production planning tools.

Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with company goals and brand vision.
  • Lead cross-functional teams including Production, Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Order Entry/Claims/Traffic/Scheduling etc.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives to optimize productivity, reduce waste, and control costs.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Product Development, and Marketing to align production capabilities with market demand and new product launches.

Plant Management

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the manufacturing facility, ensuring safety, efficiency, and product quality.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators for production output, quality, safety, and on-time delivery.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of plant equipment and adherence to preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, and labor planning to meet production goals.

Quality & Compliance

  • Enforce rigorous quality control standards in keeping with the luxury brand’s reputation.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain certifications and lead audits as needed.

Financial & Strategic Management

  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, forecasts, and capital expenditures.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement best practices to improve margins.
  • Provide regular operational updates to executive leadership, including performance analysis and strategic recommendations.

Team Development & Culture

  • Build, mentor, and retain a high performing operations team.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence.
  • Foster a safe, and respectful workplace.
