THE OPPORTUNITY:

We have an amazing opportunity for a Plant Operator to join our Albian Operations – MRM Ore Prep team, where you will operate the plant to meet planned production, quality and environmental targets. We are looking for self-starter with adaptive work style that works well in a fast-paced team environment with a continuous improvement mindset with the drive to enact change. This position reports to the Shift Team Lead.

  • Job location: Fort McMurray, Alberta - Albian Oil Sands Site
  • Shift schedule: 7 x 7, 12-hour shifts (Tuesday -Monday)
  • Safety sensitive position: Yes

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Ensure the safety of people, equipment, and the environment while ensuring plant procedures and policies are followed
  • Perform plant operation duties including proactive equipment monitoring and rounds in a safe and efficient manner and ensure shift changes are well communicated with oncoming crew
  • Prepare equipment for maintenance using Lock Out Tag Outs (LOTO’s) energy isolation of equipment
  • Issue safe work permits within a plant operating environment
  • Ensure timely action and process adjustments during plant upsets that are consistent with operational objectives and target outputs
  • Utilize our maintenance management system and entering work orders for deficiencies that need to be repaired
Responsibilities
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Valid and clean Class 5 driver’s license
  • Mechanical aptitude to manage hands-on operation of plant equipment an operating mobile such and skid steers, JLG
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with a proven safety and environmental mindset and ability to make timely decisions associated with process upsets
