OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Plant Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our Processing plant, ensuring that production processes run smoothly and efficiently, and that quality is met for each customer specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of machinery, safety protocols, and operational procedures. The Plant Operator will play a critical role in maintaining high-quality standards while adhering to safety regulations. The Plant Operator will receive training in sampling and grading, as well as all necessary on-site training in safety, HACCP, CFIA, Forklift and equipment operations, and other certifications as required.

EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience as a Plant Operator or in a similar role within a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
• Familiar with Agriculture pulses (peas and beans) is an asset.
• Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations in an industrial setting is essential.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

• Monitor and control plant operations to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Operate and maintain production equipment including but not limited to sizing machines, gravity table, optical sorter, performing routine inspections and troubleshooting as necessary, as well as regular preventative maintenance and sanitation.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards while maintaining a clean work environment.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve production goals and resolve any operational issues that may arise.
• Document production data accurately and report any discrepancies or malfunctions to management.
• Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge related to plant operations.
• Ensure quality is met for each customer order.
