We are seeking a dedicated Plant Operator to join our team at a renewable energy site, specifically operating a biomass plant. As a Plant Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient day-to-day operation, maintenance, and site operations of the biomass plant.
Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring and controlling plant equipment, ensuring smooth operations, and identifying and resolving any issues that may arise. You will also be involved in routine maintenance tasks, conducting inspections, and performing repairs as required.
The role may require working at heights and in confined spaces during shutdowns, so a willingness to adhere to safety protocols in these situations is essential. Operating heavy machinery, such as JCBs and forklifts, will be part of your daily operations, so proficiency in their use is required.

The position requires working in a rotating shift schedule opposite the other site operator, following a 4 on / 4 off pattern (days only) that includes providing weekend coverage. There is often opportunity for overtime, this could be to cover the opposite shift or to come in during boiler cleans and shutdown. During each shift, you will be on call to promptly respond to any potential plant breakdown callouts. While you will be required to work on bank holidays, you will get the time back as holiday for those days worked.
This role may suit someone with experience in waste or recycling, agriculture or manufacturing sectors.

REQUIREMENTS

• Due to the site location and on call requirements, you will need to have your own transport.
• Due to the requirement of dust protection PPE, we have a clean shaven policy.
