POSITION SUMMARY:
As part of the plant science team, the research assistant will work closely with the associate scientists and plant science managers and contribute to advancing plant science research. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in biological sciences, excellent organizational skills, strong data analysis capabilities and a solid foundation in basic molecular techniques. The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills and a sense of urgency. Key responsibilities in this role are to collect and analyze data, assist in the design and execution of trials, assist with routine plant breeding and phenotyping, routine plant maintenance (such as cloning, sowing, watering, pruning, harvesting, etc.), occasional laboratory work, organizing daily priorities, and other duties as assigned.
