Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Join us as an Eraring Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Plant Technician and be at the forefront of maintaining and operating cutting-edge energy storage technology! In this role, you will be part of a small team to plan, coordinate, and safely execute the operation and maintenance of our Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Facility, ensuring its economic operation, reliability, efficiency, and optimised performance.
Additionally, you’ll support and be involved in the construction phase of the BESS Project, and after the project is complete, you will become the site operator/maintainer and Subject Matter Expert (SME). KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reports directly to the BESS Operational Lead
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the BESS facility
  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation and actively participate in Origin Energy’s HSE systems.
  • Provide leadership, flexibility, and support for change while driving continuous improvement in performance.
  • Carry out operational and maintenance activities such as routine and breakdown workflows.
  • Lead, train, and coach Plant Technicians in maintaining and operating BESS infrastructure, including scheduled maintenance and safety procedures.
  • Manage and supervise maintenance activities, including coordination with third-party contractors and leading Permit to Work (PTW) processes.
  • Provide technical advice, lead incident analysis, and promote continuous improvement in processes and systems.
  • Prepare and manage operational and capital budgets, champion key plant areas, and participate in asset acquisitions and new development projects.
  • Willingness to work to an “On Call” roster
