PLASMA OPERATOR

Jas P Wilson is a UK-based supplier and engineer of forestry and firewood machinery. Established in 1964, we now serve customers throughout the UK, Europe and beyond from our base in Dalbeattie, South-West Scotland. We supply new and used Valtra tractors, Used Excavators, timber cranes and trailers, professional firewood processors and associated products, heavy duty winches and woodchippers, mulchers as well as used timber harvester & forwarder. We also manufacture the Botex range of heavy-duty timber cranes and trailers in our Dalbeattie base. We have an exciting opportunity for a full time Plasma Operator to work with and support our existing manufacturing team. We are UK based manufacturers of Botex Heavy Duty Equipment. Manufactured in Dalbeattie, we are the UK’s only manufacturers of forestry cranes and trailers. We understand the needs of our home market like no other and design all Botex equipment with this in mind.
The ideal candidate would have previous experience of working in an engineering workshop and be capable of working on your own initiative where required.

KEY SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

· Previous experience preferred; however, training can be given.
· Ability to read technical drawings, useful, not essential.
· Able to work as part of a team.
· Ability to work under pressure, this will be an intensive position at times, therefore being able to have quick reactions to changes and challenges will be an advantage.
· Good organisational and communication skills with the ability to convey information verbally to fellow team members.
· Manual handling, lifting heavy parts is part of the job.
· Good timekeeper, reliable and takes pride in the quality of their work.
· Overtime may be required at short notice.

• Set up and run the plasma cutting machinery.
• Perform routine maintenance and upkeep of the machinery.
• Responsible for keeping a clean working environment.
• Input data from drawings i.e. material thickness, bend information etc.
• Organise and store parts.
• Communicate with management and peers regarding parts and orders.
• Work within our Health & Safety policy, and in a professional manner.
