POSITION SUMMARY:

We are looking for a hands-on Plastic Injection Engineer to join our manufacturing team. This role is essential in supporting our plastic injection operations, while also providing technical, floor-level support across our broader range of non-plastic manufacturing lines. The ideal candidate will be a practical problem solver who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves to resolve issues side-by-side with operators and technicians.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Plastics, or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent technical experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a plastic injection molding environment, with exposure to general manufacturing equipment.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve real-time production issues.
  • Practical, hands-on experience with mechanical and automated manufacturing systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and process documentation.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours or shifts as needed to support production demands.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct, on-the-floor technical support to machine operators, primarily in plastic injection molding and across other manufacturing lines (e.g., filling, capping, labeling, packaging).
  • Troubleshoot molding defects, equipment issues, and process inconsistencies.
  • Adjust process parameters and perform setups to maintain product quality and improve machine efficiency.
  • Participate in mold and equipment changeovers, startups, and production trials.
  • Monitor key production metrics (e.g., cycle times, scrap rates) and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Assist with hands-on diagnostics and repair support for production machinery, including both plastic and non-plastic processes.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, and Production teams to resolve recurring issues and reduce downtime.
  • Support and document process improvements, corrective actions, and standard work procedures.
  • Train and mentor operators to ensure consistent understanding of optimal process controls.
  • Maintain a strong, visible presence on the floor to proactively identify and respond to operational needs.
