JOB TITLE: INJECTION MACHINE OPERATOR

We currently have an opening position for Injection Machine Operator.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATION

· Preferred one year experience but will be trained at the job if none experience available
· Experience working with hand, power and/or air tools considered an asset but not required
· Experience handling parts and materials such as resins, pigment and other chemicals
· Good team player with communication skills
· Able to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs.
· High regard for safety, follow all rules, regulations and legislation
· Following Lean Manufacturing guidelines

Responsibilities
  • Review production order and spec sheets and select right raw materials
  • Select and weigh resins, pigment and other chemicals according to production spec sheet/formulation card
  • Operate, place weighed materials in mixing machines to blend plastic and other chemicals to a specific consistency and viscosity for injection moulding process
  • Set up and operate one or more injection molding machines to mold plastic products based on product specifications
  • Perform visual product quality inspect to ensure they meet all required quality standards, pay attention to color, burnt mark,
  • Measure and gauge product using jigs and other measurement tools
  • Troubleshoot product deficiencies and/or escalate the problems to technical team if needed
  • Complete required paperwork such as work orders sheet with production information
  • Perform mold set up, start up, shutdown according to production schedule, and trouble shooting of injection machines
  • Regrind excess material and unsatisfactory work piece for reuse, using grinding machine
  • Monitors production relevant data such as part weight, cycle time, scrap time etc. and informs Engineering or Quality if there any discrepancies
  • Assist in new mold design process, perform testing and feedback on new mold and products
  • Suggest continuous process improvement and maximize productivity and quality
  • Maintain positive working relationships, strong multi-tasking skills and ability to communicate effectively
  • Maintain safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat and comply with procedures, rules, and regulations
