Description Position Summary: A Plastic Extrusion Operator utilizes the machinery in the Plastic Extrusion Department in order to fulfill daily production requirements. Key Job Responsibilities: Sets up, operates, changes over, and shuts down all extrusion equipment within the department. Uses the production schedule to determine the order in which production jobs are executed. Uses systems to track finished goods production, raw material consumption, scrap, and production time. Follows FIFO when using raw materials, records accurate lot information. Follows Good Documentation Practices Uses tape measurers, calipers, pin gauges, and wall thickness gauges to measure extruded products. Daily teamwork and collaboration with other departments is expected Daily housekeeping is required Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work 12-hour shifts. Requirements Education, Skills and Experience Requirements: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, work instructions, and procedure manuals. Speak effectively to fellow employees Take written notes and fill out written run sheet information in an organized, legible fashion.
