Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Plastics Operator to join our dynamic team in the Plastics Department at our Seymour power cable manufacturing facility. The Plastics Operator is responsible for setting up and operating extrusion machinery to apply plastic layers/jackets to wire and cable while ensuring consistent quality, safety, and efficiency in production.

EDUCATION:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical training in machinery or a related field preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

• Previous experience in manufacturing or production; cable/wire manufacturing preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and safe machine operation experience.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

• Familiarity with production line processes and quality standards.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and recordkeeping.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Physically fit; able to handle heavy equipment and stand for extended periods.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Assist with employee training as needed.
• Participate actively in team meetings.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
