Job Details Job Location: Rutland, VT Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $25.55 - $29.07 Hourly Job Shift: 1st Shift Description Band VIII Supervisor Plastics, Shift 1 Pay range: $25.55-29.07 We have an immediate opening for a Plastics Shift 1 Supervisor. POSITION SUMMARY: The Supervisor VIII - Plastics will be responsible for the overall operating performance of the Plastics division. This position will work collaboratively with the Area Lead to execute production schedules with emphasis on safety, quality, delivery, cost, and culture. Ensure increasing levels of customer and employee satisfaction while improving the efficiency of manpower, materials, and machines. This position will manage a work environment with numerous production changes and daily order fulfillment schedules. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assures that, and is responsible for, area/s meets or exceeds metrics for safety, quality, delivery, cost, and culture (including 5S-plus audits). Reviews daily production schedule for the department to plan work and personnel assignments Supervises and directs personnel in performing operations according to sound operating principals and company policies and procedures. Includes safety training and company safety and accident prevention procedures. Coordinate workflow and develops teamwork to attain shift/department objectives. Anticipates and determines causes of misses in shift’s KPIs Reports promptly to production manager and/or site manager when KPI misses occur. Estimates impacts on overall operation and prepares recover plans and corrective actions. Prepares required forms for shift employees and forwards to production manager and/or safety manager and human resources for approval (near miss, injury/incident/ corrective actions). Conducts training of new hires, including safety policies and procedures. Available to work overtime as required. Manages workflow and accuracy of ERP System. ERP system/inventory control knowledge preferred Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Leadership: a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others. Communication: excellent written and oral communications and interpersonal skills to facilitate work through multiple shifts / departments / buildings. Ability and willingness to provide feedback and have crucial conversations with effective results. Planning: an ability to think ahead, plan accordingly and prepare/deliver action plans to achieve results. Problem solving: Possess strong analytical skills and mechanical aptitude to help troubleshoot problems and implement improvement plans which deliver solutions effectively. Possess computer skills and proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) A valid driver’s license is required. Ability to read a tape measure and understand tolerances
