PLATFORM ARCHITECT:

On behalf of our Retail client, Procom is searching for a Platform Architect for a 6-month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 4 days onsite at our client’s Toronto or Oakville office.

PLATFORM ARCHITECT - JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Platform Architect will be responsible for designing and developing a robust event streaming platform to support high-throughput, low-latency data streams. The project involves creating architecture blueprints and technical roadmaps that align with business goals, ensuring high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery.

PLATFORM ARCHITECT - MANDATORY SKILLS:

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in an architecture role
• Experience designing and building Java Spring Boot microservices in production
• Deep expertise with Azure Cloud (AKS, Event Hubs, Key Vault, API Management)
• Strong understanding of MongoDB database
• Understanding of CI/CD specifically in Azure DevOps
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes
• Hands-on experience with streaming platforms and event-driven architectures

PLATFORM ARCHITECT – NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:

• Familiarity with API design and service-oriented architectures
• Strong knowledge of distributed system design
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience in performance optimization

• Design and architect a robust event streaming platform
• Develop architecture blueprints and technical roadmaps
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams
• Work closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders
• Identify bottlenecks and optimize system performance
• Ensure platform adheres to security best practices and compliance requirements
• Create comprehensive documentation for architectural designs and APIs
