Job Description
Internal Job Title: Platform Developer/System Administrator
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Job Location: Ottawa, ON
Work Model: Hybrid
POSITION SUMMARY
As an Platform Developer and System Administrator in our Product Development group, you will be responsible for automating the setup and configuration of both Azure Cloud and on-prem platforms for internal and customer environments. In addition to setup some management and maintenance our DevOps environment, testlabs, and CBN product development solutions is also part of the job. In this position you will apply your knowledge of Azure Cloud and on-premises infrastructure with hands on configuration, automation and written documentation. The work will enable efficient environment creation and tear down for development teams and customer delivery.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES (KSAS) AND EXPERIENCE
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Technology (or a related field) or an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience.
- Certifications: CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Certified Kubernetes Administrator or similar certifications are assets.
- Knowledge: IaC development experience, System administration principles, database management principles, network protocols, security best practices.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Competencies: Organizational skills, technical independence, proactive approach to identifying and solving issues.
- Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in a DevOps (or related) position
- 2+ years of experience with cloud infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management
- 5-7 years of experience in system administration with database exposure. Must have proven script writing experience.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
- Language: Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift/carry up to 25 lbs
- Security Clearance: Ability to obtain (in a timely manner) and maintain Government of Canada Secret (Level II) clearance
