Description

About Aspire
At Aspire Technology Solutions, we look for dynamic individuals who want to work for one of the fastest growing IT and Cyber Security providers in the UK. It is such an exciting time to join us on our journey as we continue to grow and expand!
Our mission is to deliver technology like no other.
About the role
We’re looking for a Platform Engineer to join our team in delivering robust, scalable infrastructure that underpins our private cloud and IaaS offerings. This role sits at the heart of our managed services, ensuring the health and performance of our virtualisation platforms, storage systems, and disaster recovery solutions. You’ll work across a diverse estate of technologies and collaborate with teams to continuously improve the platform for our customers.
Looking ahead, we’re also exploring alternative technologies to evolve our cloud platform beyond VMware, in light of recent industry shifts. As such, you’ll play a key part in evaluating and testing emerging solutions to ensure our platform continues to meet the needs of our customers, both now and in the future.

What you will be doing

  • Managing and maintaining a large-scale virtualisation infrastructure, primarily based on VMware (vSphere, NSX, vCloud Director)
  • Supporting our private cloud and IaaS platform across multiple hardware platforms (Dell, HPE, NetApp, etc.)
  • Administering and optimising enterprise storage systems, including Nimble, NetApp, VNX, and StoreOnce
  • Overseeing and supporting our Veeam-based DRaaS platform, including patching and storage integration
  • Researching, evaluating, and testing emerging technologies to help define the future direction of the platform

You will suit the role if you have

  • Strong experience with VMware technologies (vSphere, NSX, vCloud Director)
  • Hands-on experience managing enterprise storage systems (e.g., HPE Nimble, NetApp)
  • Knowledge of Veeam and its integration with storage for backup and disaster recovery
  • Familiarity with converged and hyperconverged hardware platforms
  • A forward-thinking mindset with an interest in shaping platform strategy and future tooling
  • A collaborative attitude and the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Our values
We understand that you might not have all of the qualifications and experiences that we think are key to succeeding in this role therefore we provide continuous learning and development at Aspire, which is at the heart of everything we do.
As long as you are passionate, eager to learn and driven to be the best at what you do and live our values this role may be a fit for you.
Salary
£38,000 to £50,000 per annum (depending on experience)

INTERVIEW PROCESS

We generally conduct interviews in three stages, lasting approximately 2-3 weeks, depending on everyone’s calendars.

  • Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a pre-screening call via Teams to discuss your experience and what you’re looking for in your next role.
  • Successful candidates will be invited to an interview with the Hiring Manager.
  • If successful in an interview, candidates will be invited to an informal interview with key stakeholders at Aspire to meet the wider team(s).
