EEO/Disabled/Vets Job Description : Platform Engineering Intern Location: Surry Hills, Sydney (onsite) Type: Paid Internship (3 months, 2–3 days per week) About the Team The Platform Engineering team builds and maintains the foundations that power News Corp’s global cloud environments and developer platforms. Our work spans cloud governance and policy automation, all the way to a global Kubernetes platform and GitOps delivery pipelines. You’ll be part of a team that values curiosity, automation, and impact, enabling engineers across News Corp to move faster with confidence. What You’ll Do: Contribute to infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and Terragrunt. Help manage AWS Organization using Service Control Policies (SCPs) Build and test Cloud Custodian policies for security, compliance, and cost optimization. Work with ArgoCD to deploy and manage workloads in EKS clusters. Write small automation scripts and configuration files in Python, YAML, and JSON. Collaborate with senior engineers through code reviews, stand-ups, and pairing sessions. What You’ll Learn How enterprise-scale cloud environments are designed and governed. The real-world use of tools like Terraform, ArgoCD, and Kubernetes. Best practices for CI/CD, infrastructure security, and policy enforcement. How to collaborate effectively in an agile engineering team using Git, PRs, and automation pipelines. About You You’re curious, hands-on, and love solving problems with technology. You might be studying Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or a related TAFE course. We’d love to hear from you if you: Have a basic understanding of Linux, Python, and cloud services (AWS preferred). Are comfortable using Git and command-line tools. Are eager to learn Terraform, Kubernetes, and automation pipelines. Communicate clearly and work well with others.
