ABOUT THE ROLE
The Platform Manager (Edge and Facilities) plays a critical leadership role in the strategic and operational management of the organisation’s network and communications infrastructure across all campuses, hospitals, comms rooms and office buildings in New Zealand. (This includes switches, routers and associated network equipment). Key to managing this national platform is to ensure robust, secure operational standards and support in a cost-effective way that focuses on delivering the best service possible. The role needs to develop and maintain the transition from legacy infrastructure and practices to a modern, fully supported secure platform that is responsive to business needs.
The Platform Manager works at the intersection of technology and strategy. It leads initiatives that enhance platform capabilities, improve service quality, and support integration across digital systems. It involves identifying strategic priorities based on risk, investment constraints, and service resilience, and aligning those with international best practices while meeting clinical and business KPIs. This role ensures that platform services effectively meet business needs, collaborating with engineering teams, digital leaders, and key stakeholders to deliver on the roadmap and drive continuous improvement in alignment with the wider digital strategy.
Success in this role requires strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build collaborative relationships while navigating a complex political environment.
