Our client Scottish Power Renewables are currently recruiting for a Platform Manager to join their team based in Lowestoft on a contract basis initially. Ideally for this role they are looking for an experienced Platform Manager with a background in Large Scale offshore projects as well as knowledge of CDM 2015. For more information on this role see below:
Main Purpose of Job
The Offshore Converter Station (OFCS) Platform Manager is a key role within the East Anglia Three team
and a critical role to deliver the OFCS scope of works.
The position is for the East Anglia Three project and will initially be based at the Lowestoft construction office
to familiarise yourself with the administration requirements of the project and assist as required in ensuring
suitable preparation for the offshore phase.
There may be a requirement for ad-hoc visits offshore to perform Client Rep/Platform Manager duties during
the installation of the jacket and topside structures, and the period of JuB interfacing works.
This role will then move to an offshore routine 14 day x 14 day rotation where the Platform Manager will be
the offshore focal point for the client. You will ensure that all OFCS activities are being carried out safely and
methodically to aid the Client in fulfilling the Principal Contractor duties within CDM 2015.
This is a senior offshore role, and as such there is an appreciation that working in excess of the standard 12hr
days is likely, and that your rest period may be disturbed to aid/address any urgent issues.
Close liaison with the main contractors for the project will be essential, and good collaboration and
communication is required to ensure the delivery of the integrated project plan. Whilst the main contractors
will manage their personnel and sub-contractors as required, there will also be a requirement for the Platform
Manager to manage teams of contract personnel directly under the clients employment.
You will be a key interface in the Management of Change approval process. Understanding the need for the
changes, ensuring that the proposals put forward are technically sound, and any impacts with regards to safety
or quality are understood and mitigated against. You will also ensure that any changes are suitably
documented and recorded for full traceability.
You will also be the offshore custodian of the Authorisation to Work process, ensuring that all works to be
undertaken are captured within a safe system of work process and that the work flow process is being
effectively adhered to.
To achieve the many requirements of this role, you will be expected to be an influential and visible leader of
people. As such you will chair various project and safety meetings as required and drive key messages to the
various personnel through your professionalism and passion to deliver safely.
