Dobcroft After School hours is a busy Morning, Afterschool and Holiday club, located in the Millhouses area of Sheffield. We are currently looking for Play workers to work in an already established club.
Your role will be to help with the day to day running of the club, you will work with both Infants and Junior children so you must be comfortable and confident working with both age groups.
Must be 17 to be able to work in this role.
Hours of work: 8.00-9.00 and 3.00-6.00 Monday to Friday term time only. Additional hours available during the holidays.
Wage: £13.68 - £14.40 dependant on qualification
Level 2 or 3 playwork or childcare qualification is an advantage

JOB SUMMARY

· Assist with the day to day organisation of the club
· To facilitate, supervise and provide playcare within club policies and procedures

Responsibilities
  1. Facilitate, plan, prepare and provide creative, physical and appropriate play opportunities and activities in a safe and caring environment.
  2. Supervise children in all aspects of their play, indoors and outdoors, on or off site.
  3. Provide full care for the children including delivery of children to school, collection of children from school, and the safe delivery to parents and/or named carers.
  4. Prepare refreshments and meet the required standards of hygiene, health & safety.
  5. Consult with children and involve them in the planning of activities.
  6. Carry out basic administration such as answering the telephone, taking messages, completing incident report forms, answering basic club queries in accordance with club systems.
  7. Administer first aid as appropriate.
  8. Encourage parental involvement and support for the club.
  9. Contribute to good communication with all members of the organisations and with the wider community including parents, schools, and childcare and play related agencies.
  10. Undertake training, which may be required by the organisation or registering authority an contribute to professional development.
  11. Ensure adherence to current playwork principles.
  12. Monitor and maintain a healthy, safe and secure working environment, carry out safety checks prior to and after attendance of the children and report any problems/risks.
  13. Clear and tidy up after activities.
  14. Carry out all responsibilities and activities within an equal opportunities framework.
  15. Work within agreed policies.
  16. To perform other roles as appropriate.
