REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum QQI Level 5 in Early Childhood Care & Education (or equivalent).
• First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Garda Vetting completed or ability to obtain.
• Experience working in a childcare or nursery setting preferred.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Passion for children’s development and education.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Chestnut Daycare is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Play Worker to join our team. You will support children’s development through play, learning activities, and outdoor experiences, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervise and engage with children, encouraging physical, social, and language development.
• Prepare play areas and materials for a wide range of educational and recreational activities.
• Promote independence, self-confidence, and positive social interaction among children.
• Organize and supervise children during outings, maintaining safety at all times.
• Plan and oversee activities in compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
• Respond appropriately to injuries or emergencies, ensuring children’s wellbeing.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment; store equipment properly.
• Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and colleagues; maintain accurate records.
