As a trusted partner of the Queenstown Lakes District Council, we take pride in maintaining the regions parks, playgrounds, gardens, infrastructure, and public spaces. To support our mission, we’re seeking a Playground Operator!

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

We’re looking for someone practical, detail-oriented, and passionate about maintaining community spaces. To be successful in the role, you’ll bring:

  • A broad range of handyperson skills with previous maintenance experience being advantageous
  • Playground Inspection & Maintenance Course Level 2 (highly desirable, but we’ll train the right candidate)
  • A full current class 1 drivers licence with the ability to drive a manual vehicle confidently
  • A strong focus on health and safety and a proactive, positive work ethic
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude; you’ll work closely with the community and your wider team
  • Reliability, punctuality, with a can-do attitude and an eye for detail

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include;

  • Performing basic handyperson tasks including playground inspections, minor repairs and aeration.
  • Cleaning, refurbishing and maintaining park assets
  • Conducting asset validation to ensure compliance and functionality
  • Supporting the wider team as neede
