Location: Mason, OH (Requires approximately 90% nationwide travel)
Pay Rate: $41 – $45 per hour (W2)
Schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (40–60 hours/week, onsite)

This role involves commissioning, troubleshooting, and supporting high-speed sortation and conveyor systems at client locations throughout the United States.Ideal candidates will have strong expertise in Studio 5000, Allen-Bradley PLCs, and HMI development. A background in post and parcel operations is strongly preferred.Responsibilities

  • Commission and support PLC and HMI software for automated material handling systems
  • Program and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs using Studio 5000
  • Perform I/O validation, QA/QC testing, and system readiness checks
  • Support BUAT, UAT, and FAT testing, and provide post-installation support
  • Maintain technical documentation and ensure compliance with safety standards
  • Train customers and work closely with cross-functional engineering teams

Work and Travel Expectations

  • Nationwide travel to approximately 20 U.S. client sites (approximately 90% travel)
  • Typical onsite rotation: 10 days onsite, followed by 4 days offsite (e.g., Monday–Friday/Saturday, then Monday–Thursday/Friday)
  • Site durations range from 2 to 6 weeks; may rotate between multiple sites
  • When not traveling, work is based in Mason, OH (remote flexibility may be considered)
  • Travel and expenses are submitted weekly and invoiced monthly under a purchase order

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in controls engineering for material handling systems
  • Proficiency with Studio 5000 and Allen-Bradley PLCs
  • Experience working with conveyors, sorters, and high-speed sortation systems
  • Familiarity with post and parcel operations is a strong plus

Technical Skills

  • PLCs and HMIs: Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff, Wonderware Aveva Edge, FactoryTalk View
  • Drives and Interfaces: VFDs, scanner integration (SICK, Cognex), machine vision
  • Tools and Software: Studio 5000, RSLinx, Aveva Edge, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Ignition, SOPAS, SST Profibus, Datalogic DataMan
  • Networking: Ethernet/IP, Profibus, industrial communication protocols

Soft Skills

  • Strong project planning and budgeting skills
