Description The PLC Electrician / Controls Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical and automation systems supporting production operations. This role focuses on PLC-controlled equipment, industrial electrical systems, and automation reliability in a high-speed manufacturing environment. Requirements Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and control system equipment • Support PLC programming, troubleshooting, and automation diagnostics • Read and interpret electrical schematics and control diagrams • Troubleshoot 480V 3-phase electrical systems • Support preventive maintenance programs for electrical systems • Assist with installation and startup of new automation equipment • Maintain maintenance documentation and system records • Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment performance • Follow all safety and compliance procedures Required Skills and Qualifications • High School Diploma or GED required • 2–5 years of industrial electrical or controls experience • PLC troubleshooting experience required • Experience with industrial electrical systems (480V preferred) • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Ability to work collaboratively with production teams Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar PLC platforms • Experience in metals, packaging, or high-speed manufacturing • Experience in union manufacturing environments Physical Requirements • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds • Ability to work in environments with noise, heat, and moving machinery
