REQUIREMENTS:

  • Engineering or Technologist Diploma or Degree an asset
  • Experience with PLC and HMI programming and SCADA systems an asset
  • Controls experience with ability to understand how programing and mechanical components work together
  • Ability to work independently within a team environment while following instructions from supervisor
  • Strong work ethic, conscientious and accountable
  • High attention to detail and effective time management
  • Effective verbal and written communication and customer service
  • Flexible availability with a willingness to travel approximately 2 weeks per month, more travel between February and June
  • Ability to travel into the U.S. (valid passport)
  • Valid Class 5 license and reliable vehicle to use for work
  • Ability to drive and walk in rural and outdoor elements and conditions including construction sites
Responsibilities
  • System Design & Planning: Analyze automation requirements, design PLC control logic and HMI interfaces, and interpret electrical drawings.
  • PLC Programming & Configuration: Develop and optimize control programs, configure timers, PID loops and control sequences, and implement communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, DNP3).
  • Installation & Commissioning: Perform onsite PLC/HMI installation in field environments, perform testing, and tune control parameters.
  • HMI & SCADA Integration: Develop HMI screens, integrate automation with SCADA, and implement alarms, logging, and remote diagnostics.
  • Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Monitor system performance, diagnose and resolve faults, and provide technical support to operators.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure regulatory compliance, maintain control logic documentation, and train personnel.
