Description

Local manufacturer is seeking aPLC Technicianthat will be responsible for vital for the installation, programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems and associated automation equipment. This role ensures the reliable, safe, and efficient operation of automated machinery, maximizing uptime and production efficiency. This can be a Sat-Wed or Sun-Thurs shift.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: High School Diploma/GED required; Associate’s Degree or technical training in Industrial Automation, Electrical Technology, or Mechatronics preferred.
  • Experience: 3-5 years hands-on industrial maintenance/automation experience, with 2-3 years focusing on PLC programming and troubleshooting (Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in PLC programming languages; strong understanding of electrical control circuits, motor controls, VFDs, and industrial networking. Ability to interpret schematics.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Strong commitment to safety.
Responsibilities
  • PLC Programming & Optimization: Develop, modify, and debug PLC programs (e.g., Ladder Logic) for new and existing equipment (Allen-Bradley, Siemens). Configure HMIs and SCADA systems.
  • System Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and resolve complex electrical, mechanical, and software issues in automated systems, including PLCs, sensors, actuators, motors, and VFDs.
  • Installation & Commissioning: Assist with the installation, wiring, and commissioning of new machinery and control systems.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance on PLC systems and control panels, including instrument calibration.
  • Documentation & Support: Maintain accurate documentation of PLC programs, schematics, and configurations. Provide technical support and training.
  • Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to all safety policies (e.g., LOTO) and industry standards (NEC, NFPA).
