PLM Solution Architect Consultant – Aerospace & Defense Location: Trollhättan (Hybrid) Industry: Aerospace & Defense About the Role The Product Lifecycle department is organized within Digitalization & IT The department is responsible for enabling and governing the Engineering and PLM digital backbone within Aerospace & Defense. It provides end-to-end solutions that support the entire product lifecycle, from requirements and design to manufacturing, maintenance, and retirement. By combining deep business understanding with strong digital and architectural capabilities, the department ensures seamless integration between engineering tools, PLM platforms, and enterprise systems. Operating in a highly regulated environment, the department focuses on standardization, compliance, and long-term digital continuity. It plays a key role in driving digital transformation, collaboration, and efficiency across complex, long-life aerospace programs. We are looking for Solution Architects with experience in Teamcenter and NX solutions who can bring value to the team and work as key resources in PLM projects. Main Tasks As a PLM Solution Architect Consultant, you will act as a creator of architectural design, defining system requirements and use cases to address overall business requirements while ensuring that the technical solution remains aligned and delivers value throughout the project lifecycle. In this role, you will be responsible for defining, designing, and governing PLM architectures that support complex product lifecycles in Aerospace & Defense programs. You will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and IT teams to ensure that the PLM landscape enables efficient, compliant, and scalable value for the business. This role is critical in bridging business needs with technical solutions, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and long-term digital thread and digital twin strategies. Key Responsibilities Define and maintain PLM solution architectures aligned with Aerospace & Defense standards and regulatory requirements. Act as a trusted advisor to business and engineering stakeholders on PLM-related topics. Translate business needs into PLM solutions that bring value to the business. Lead or support PLM maintenance, upgrade, and integration initiatives. Drive requirements management, solution design, and architectural decision-making. Ensure integration of PLM with surrounding systems such as ERP, MES, CAD, and simulation platforms. Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., AS/EN9100, ITAR, export control). Provide technical leadership, documentation, and architectural guidance. Required Qualifications Proven experience as a PLM Solution Architect, PLM Consultant, or in a similar role. Hands-on experience with one or more major PLM platforms, such as: Teamcenter NX SMW SC3D TCRA TC Quality Experience in configuration and architecture of servers and performance for multi-site environments. Solid understanding of: Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) concepts Configuration & Change Management Requirements Management Product Structures, BOMs (EBOM/MBOM), and BOP Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Fluent in English, both spoken and written. Meriting / Nice to Have PLM domain knowledge within Aerospace & Defense or other highly regulated industries. Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). Knowledge of CAD and simulation integrations. Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks. Understanding of cybersecurity, data classification, and export control requirements. Background in engineering, systems engineering, or manufacturing. Personal Attributes Structured and methodical with a strong quality mindset.
