Description Key Responsibilities: Service Delivery: Operate plow trucks safely and proficiently to clear snow from residential driveways, parking areas, and walkways. Apply salt, sand, and other de-icing materials effectively using truck-mounted spreaders. Ensure efficient and timely completion of snow and ice management tasks on assigned routes. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding route conditions, progress, and any issues encountered. Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with Perform manual shoveling of walkways, steps, and other areas inaccessible to the plow truck on residential properties. Equipment Management: Operate assigned plow truck safely and according to manufacturer guidelines and company procedures. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the plow truck, including the plow, spreader, lights, and fluid levels, documenting any issues. Perform basic daily maintenance on the plow truck, such as ensuring proper fluid levels and reporting any maintenance needs. Report any equipment malfunctions, damage, or repair needs to the appropriate personnel immediately. Ensure the plow truck is properly cleaned and secured at the end of each shift. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as all applicable traffic laws and regulations. Maintain a high level of awareness of surroundings, potential hazards (e.g., obstacles, parked cars, pedestrians), while operating the plow truck. Utilize all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times. Report any unsafe conditions or incidents immediately to the supervisor. Follow established procedures for the safe loading and transport of de-icing materials. Record Keeping: Accurately complete daily vehicle logs and route checklists. Report completed work and any site-specific observations or client requests to the supervisor. Document any equipment issues or damage that occurred during operation. Assist with tracking material usage (salt, sand, etc.) as required by the supervisor. Performance Measurements Measurement of estimated hours to actual hours worked for jobs performed by crews. Average Customer Service Survey Score Team Safety Score Team Clock Time Accuracy Requirements Skills and Qualifications Previous experience operating a plow truck for snow removal is preferred. Ability to operate a plow truck safely and efficiently in challenging winter conditions. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required. Reliability and punctuality are essential, as work often occurs during and immediately after snow and ice events. Ability to follow instructions and work independently. Strong work ethic and a commitment to providing excellent service. Physical ability to perform manual shoveling and work in cold and potentially hazardous winter conditions. Good communication skills. Familiarity with the Lakes Region of New Hampshire and its roadways is a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to lift 50 lbs or more, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks. Comfortable working outdoors in various conditions, including heat, cold, snow and rain. Schedule Available for work during snow events, which may include early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays, often with limited notice.
