JOB DESCRIPTION:

Aero-Graphics is looking for a seasoned PLS-CADD Team Lead to drive our transmission line modeling operations. This is a leadership role for someone who thrives on technical excellence, team collaboration, and delivering high-quality geospatial solutions. You’ll be at the forefront of integrating LiDAR data with PLS-CADD modeling to support utility and infrastructure clients across the country.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with PLS-CADD and transmission line modeling.
  • Strong command of PLS modeling techniques, including alignment definition and structure placement.
  • Deep understanding of transmission line design, utility standards, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience integrating LiDAR data into engineering workflows.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, or Structural Engineering (or equivalent experience).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Familiarity with Aero-Graphics workflows or similar geospatial service providers.
  • Experience with scripting or automation in PLS-CADD.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license or eligibility to obtain one.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technicians in PLS-CADD modeling workflows.
  • Oversee the modeling of transmission lines, including double-circuit configurations and DTM width compliance.
  • Ensure accurate placement of conductor attachment points and integration of survey control and meteorological data.
  • Define alignments using PI points and structure locations, including dummy structures and associated imagery.
  • Maintain strict adherence to file naming conventions and metadata standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers, survey teams, and clients to ensure deliverables meet technical and regulatory standards.
  • Stay current with industry standards (e.g., NERC, IEEE, FGDC) and integrate them into modeling practices.
  • Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
