We have an opening for an experienced Red Seal Journeyman Power Line Technician Foreman who isa skilled expert in the field.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Understanding of applicable codes and regulations.
  • Planning skills for project completion, resource requirements, and project documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of Powerline construction, blueprint reading, and understanding of specification requirements.
  • Ability to lead and work within a team environment.
  • Promotion of safe work practices.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.

A FEW QUALIFICATIONS THAT WOULD HELP YOU SUCCEED:

  • Experience in underground Shallow Utility Construction, including 4 party installations, overhead and underground distribution powerline, communications, or other similar work.
  • Knowledge of reading and interpreting electrical drawings.
  • Highly organized and proven ability to lead a team.
  • Valid Driver’s License and Driver’s abstract in good standing.
  • Live-line experience or qualifications.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience constructing overhead and underground distribution powerlines.
  • Experience working on ENMAX Power Corporation’s and Fortis Alberta’s Distribution System.
    This is a safety-sensitive position and is subject to Primary’s Alcohol and Drug Policy, which includes pre-employment testing.

Responsibilities
  • Reinforce company policies and ensure safe and productive completion of the work.
  • Plan site projects and resource requirements, including coordination of sub-contractors as required.
  • Coordinate on-site material requirements and effectively manage site materials.
  • Demonstrate technical ability and application of appropriate processes and procedures.
  • Conduct safety meetings and assist with incident reporting and investigations as required.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to direct reports.
  • Maintain detailed project field documentation, reports, and job closing documents.
  • Provide input into performance reviews of direct reports.
  • Complete full-cycle field documentation of projects and submit as-builts for job closing and billing.
  • Read and interpret overhead and underground distribution electrical drawings and prints.
  • Maintain & update project schedules daily.
  • Review and understand the project schedule/milestones.
