JOB DESCRIPTION

The Plumbing Apprentice (2nd/3rd Year) at DMS Hydronic Mechanical Systems Ltd. will assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems for new build construction projects. Under the guidance of senior plumbers, the apprentice will gain hands-on experience in plumbing, mechanical, and HVAC systems, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, safety standards, and client specifications. The position requires work at project sites throughout the Metro Vancouver area, and the full-time position follows a Monday to Friday schedule.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems in new construction projects
  • Help with the installation of water supply lines, waste systems, and HVAC plumbing components.
  • Learn and adhere to safety standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist senior plumbers in troubleshooting and repairing plumbing issues.
  • Prepare and organize plumbing tools and materials for job sites.
  • Assist in measuring, cutting, and threading pipes, as well as joining them using various techniques.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by ensuring proper disposal of materials and cleaning up after work is completed.
  • Participate in on-the-job training to develop skills and knowledge in plumbing and mechanical systems.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers and team members as needed.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed within the project timeline and to company standards.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned by the supervisor or project manager.
