Description
Job Summary Install, repair and maintain plumbing systems and fixtures in non-residential, commercial, institutional, industrial or public buildings. The Plumber reads blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks and waste drainage systems. The Plumber will then plan, install and service plumbing systems, fixtures, piping equipment and controls. These piping systems may be used to transport water, waste, gases and hot liquids. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Population Served Job Responsibilities •Performs plumbing related maintenance on equipment in accordance with manufacturer's recommended procedures & specifications to ensure proper operation & minimize downtime of critical mechanical equipment, medical facility systems, plumbing, medical gas systems, & roof systems. •Performs plumbing related preventive maintenance procedures on all operating mechanical equipment, medical facility systems, plumbing, medical gas, & roof systems as recommended by equipment manufacturers, standard engineering practices, & hospital policies & procedures to ensure continued equipment operation & minimize unscheduled corrective maintenance. •Performs shutdown & startup procedures on equipment in accordance with seasonal comfort requirements & as recommended by equipment manufactures, standard engineering practices, & hospital policies & procedures to ensure efficient equipment operation, maximize efficiency, & extend equipment life while equipment is in use & during seasonal periods of non-use. •Inspects mechanical equipment, work areas & mechanical spaces as assigned, corrects deficiencies & cleans as required by OSHA, mechanical standards, hospital policies, & as directed by superiors to ensure proper equipment operation & that mechanical spaces & work areas are kept clean & safe. •Performs plumbing related construction, installation & alterations for new & existing mechanical & facility systems. Recommend system & procedural improvements to Foreman by evaluating plumbing systems, components & maintenance procedures in the field to ensure maximum performance & efficiency of both equipment & maintenance staff. •Completes assigned tasks. Specifications Experience: Minimum Required        Completion of Apprentice Program. Education: Minimum Required       High school graduate or G.E.D Training Description     Appropriate training Special Skills Minimum Required        Basic computer literacy skills required Licensure Description     Journeyman License DRIVER'S LICENSE (CURRENT) required
