Description E&E Foods is in search of a seasonal Plumber at our Coffee Point salmon processing plant in Egegik, AK. This role requires patience, flexibility, and a desire to work as hard as the situation demands. This position is responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing plumbing systems. Tasks include troubleshooting systems, replacing malfunctioning fixtures and installing new pipes when needed. Must ensure quality workmanship, coordination with other team members and maintain a safe working environment. Finally, this position will maintain and uphold company policies and procedures as well as be self-directed, well organized and comfortable in a diverse living and working environment. Requirements A Plumber typically has a wide range of responsibilities, which can include: • Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems for any projects • Perform planned updates and installation of existing and new plumbing infrastructure • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the exact layout of the plumbing systems. • Cut, thread, and assemble pipes and fittings using hand tools or machines in all sizes and makes • Install fixtures such as sinks, toilets, bathtubs, showers, and water heaters when necessary • Test all plumbing systems for leaks and any other issues • Follow all safety procedures and regulations while working on job sites • Has skills to layout and plumb both small and large projects • Install sewer lines, water lines, faucets, drain caps, etc. when needed • Install water treatment systems as well as other plumbing systems • Performs all plumbing inspections and makes all recommendations for improvements • Proficient in using hand tools and power tools commonly used in plumbing work • Proficient in blueprint reading and understanding construction plans • Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and repair plumbing issues • Skilled in pipe threading and cutting to precise measurements • Knowledge of various plumbing techniques and materials • Knowledge of sewer lines, gas lines, drains, water treatment systems and pipe sizes • Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical labor • Ability to work outside in various weather conditions • Must adhere to all safety requirement • High school diploma or equivalent QUALIFICATIONS: • 3+ years of plumbing experience preferred. • Must be at least 18 years of age • Must show availability to work in the USA • Able to work with minimal supervision • Able to take directions and respond to feedback • Able to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment • Must be able to stand, walk and work for 12+ hours, 7 days a week. • General knowledge of mechanical field and skills • Ability and willingness to work in a remote area of Alaska and work in a seafood processing plant for several months. This includes working in inclement weather and in a seafood production plant SALARY & BENEFITS: • The starting wage is $24.00 to $28.00 per hour straight time and $36.00 to $42.00 per hour overtime. • Round trip airfare from largest city near point of hire to plan location in Alaska. • Free room and board while at the Alaska Plant. WORK ENVIRONMENT: • Must be able to sustain a 12 hour per day/7 days a week work schedule for the duration of the season, approximately Early May through August at the Facility in Egegik, Alaska. • The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level is usually loud. • The work environment is weather dependent: ranging from warm and sunny to cold, windy and wet. Working outdoors in a varying weather is a given in this position.
