About the Role: Are you a Plumber looking for a new opportunity? We are looking for a qualified Plumber to join our Facilities Management Team to lead a small team of two Plumbers and one Trade Assistant. This role focuses on reactive maintenance across The Canberra Hospital campus, including prioritising work, investigating issues, and delivering effective solutions. You will also manage larger, more complex maintenance activities and provide technical advice on water systems. As a key representative of Canberra Health Services, you will engage with a broad range of internal stakeholders, including senior leaders, and contribute to the safe management of water systems within a clinical environment. To be successful in this position you will have: • extensive industry experience (ideally 10+ years), preferably within a large or campus-style environment. • proven leadership skills, including task allocation and team coordination. • ability to interpret hydraulic plans and navigate complex facilities. • strong knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and regulatory requirements for plumbing systems, including backflow prevention, thermostatic mixing valves (TMV’s), and water quality compliance. • experience contributing to preventative maintenance programs and asset lifecycle management, including the use of maintenance management systems to plan and track work. • a detailed understanding of infection prevention and control (IPC) principles, as well as knowledge of legionella and waterborne pathogen management.
