JOB DESCRIPTION

The Plumber Gas Fitter main responsibility is to install, maintain, and repair plumbing and gas components and equipment.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

· Thorough and current knowledge of the standards, practices, regulations, methods, tools and equipment of the trade
· Ability to determine, judge and select appropriate course of action within the limits of established methods and procedures
· Excellent problem solving skills with strong attention to detail
· Effective oral and communication skills
· Physical ability to perform the required duties
· Strong work ethic and motivated
· Able to work independently as well as part of a team

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

· Class “B” Gas Fitter’s Ticket
· Journeyman/Journeywoman Plumber Ticket (preferred)
· Cross Connection Control Certificate, or willingness to certify

EXPERIENCE

· Five years experience or more working in gas fitting (preferred)
· Two years experience or more working in an agricultural setting (preferred)

Responsibilities

· Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, appliances, and for systems such as water, hydronic, drainage, waste and vent, chemical, and irrigation
· Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, or work sketches to determine layouts of piping systems
· Conduct routine inspections of plumbing systems to identify issues, make recommendations, or performs repairs
· Ensure compliance with plumbing codes and regulations
· Assist with obtaining the required gas permits
· Collaborate with other tradespeople to ensure efficiency and project completion
· Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner
· Following documented procedures and completing required paperwork
· Maintain a clean and organized working environment while adhering to safety protocols
· Responsible for safe operation of company vehicle and maintaining a clean driving record
· Willing to work overtime and respond to after hours service calls
· Will sometimes be required to work out of town upon request
